Passenger's fatal assault on railway TTE Vinod provokes concern among ticket checkers in SWR zone

On April 1st, a Travelling Ticket Inspector (TTI) on the New Tinsukia Superfast Express from SMVT Bengaluru to Guwahati was bitten on the hand by a ticketless passenger while checking tickets. This incident, while recent, highlights a common issue faced by TTIs: violence from passengers. The death of TTE K Vinod...

on April 2nd, after being kicked from a moving train by a passenger refusing to show his ticket, has sparked fear and concern among TTIs. This fear is not unfounded, as other TTIs have been subjected to violent attacks in the past. For example, V Santhosh Kumar was robbed, tied up, and thrown from a moving train six years ago, and another woman TTE was assaulted by a group of women three years ago. TTIs are calling for improved security measures, as they face verbal and physical abuse while performing their duties. The introduction of LHB coaches has led to an increase in disputes, as more passengers with open tickets are found in reserved coaches. Senior SWR officials are aware of the issue and are working to find solutions.

1st April ko, SMVT Bengaluru se Guwahati jaane wali New Tinsukia Superfast Express mein, ek Travelling Ticket Inspector (TTI) ko ek ticketless passenger ne haath pe kaat liya jab woh ticket check kar rahe the. Ye to bas ek recent incident hai, par TTIs ko passengers se aane wali violence ka...

problem bahut time se hai. 2nd April ko, TTE K Vinod ki maut ho gayi jab ek passenger ne unhe train se dhakka de diya kyuki woh ticket nahi dikha raha tha. Isse TTIs mein bahut dar aur tension hai. Yeh dar be-bunyad nahi hai, kyuki pehle bhi TTIs par attacks ho chuke hain. For example, 6 saal pehle, V Santhosh Kumar ko loot liya gaya, bandh diya gaya, aur chalti train se dhakka de diya gaya. Aur 3 saal pehle, ek aur TTE ko ek group of women ne maara. TTIs maang rahe hain ki unhe security di jaaye, kyuki unhe apna kaam karte hue verbal aur physical abuse ka saamna karna padta hai. LHB coaches aane ke baad se disputes bhi badh gaye hain, kyuki bahut se passengers jo open tickets pe hain, woh reserved coaches mein baith jaate hain. Senior SWR officials ko is problem ke bare mein pata hai aur woh solution dhund rahe hain.
