to the cancellation. Approximately 10,000 railway employees from four divisions of the South Eastern Railway zone, namely Chakradharpur, Ranchi, Kharagpur, and Adra, had applied for the GDCI. This cancellation has demoralized Class IV employees who were hoping to be promoted to positions like Guard, Assistant Loco Pilot, Junior Engineer, and Station Master. The Railway Board previously planned to fill 50% of the vacancies in the safety category by 2024 through the GDCI. However, a new order issued two days ago has extended the deadline to fill these vacancies to 2026.

Railway Board pehle GDCI ke through 2024 tak safety category ke vacancies ke 50% posts ko fill karne ki planing kar raha tha. Par, do din pehle aaye new order mein yeh deadline extend karke 2026 kar diya gaya hai.
