The police are investigating the case from angles of murder, accident, and suicide, and the initial investigation points towards suicide. The family, however, alleges that their daughter was abducted, gang-raped, and then killed, her body dumped on the railway tracks. A medical panel conducted an examination and preserved vaginal swabs. The DCP of Ganganagar stated that the case appears to be suicide based on preliminary evidence and that further action will be taken based on the evidence.
