Kantabaji Steel Express, and a freight train were approaching each other when the drivers saw each other and applied brakes. The sudden braking caused panic among the passengers of the Steel Express, which was traveling at 130 km/h. The train was close to the freight train, only 100 meters away, when it stopped. Had the train not stopped in time, a major accident could have occurred. The freight train was moved back after a delay, and the Steel Express was allowed to proceed to Chakradharpur. No officials were willing to comment on the incident. However, sources suggest that the accident may have occurred due to a malfunction in the auto signal system.

Express, aur ek freight train ek doosre ki taraf aa rahe the jab drivers ne ek doosre ko dekha aur brakes laga diye. Steel Express ke sudden braking se train mein safar kar rahe passengers mein apra tafri mach gayi. Train ki speed 130 km/h thi jab brakes lage. Train freight train se 100 meters ki doori par thi jab yeh ruk gayi. Agar train samay par nahin rukti toh ek bada accident ho sakta tha. Freight train ko thodi der ke baad peeche kiya gaya, aur Steel Express ko Chakradharpur ki taraf jaane diya gaya. Is sambandh mein koi bhi official bolne ke liye taiyaar nahin. Lekin, sources bataate hain ki accident auto signal system mein kharabi ki wajah se ho sakta hai.
