The electrification of the Chopan-Chunar rail line was completed two years ago, leading to increased train speeds and frequency. Following electrification, the demand for doubling the line grew. The railway department has allocated 1428 crore rupees for the doubling project. The tender process has been completed. The NCR Railway Manager, Himanshu Badoni, confirmed that PM Modi will virtually inaugurate the Amrit Station project in Sonbhadra, alongside the doubling of the Chopan-Chunar line, on February 26th. This is expected to accelerate the doubling work on the 102 kilometer long route. The Amrit Yojana is underway at the Sonbhadra railway station. The Station Superintendent, Rammani Saraswat, confirmed that the foundation stone ceremony will be held at the station on February 26th.

Chopan-Chunar railway line ka vidyutikaran do saal pehle poora ho chuka tha. Isse trains ki speed aur frequency badhi hai. Vidyutikaran ke baad se is line ke doubling ka kaam ki demand bad gayi thi. Railway department ne is project ke liye 1428 crore rupees allocate kiye hain. Tender ki process poori ho chuki hai. NCR ke railway manager Himanshu Badoni ne bataya ki 26 February ko PM Modi Sonbhadra mein Amrit Station project aur Chopan-Chunar line ke doubling ka virtual shilaanyas karenge.
