These dogs will work in conjunction with the existing sniffer dog, Jack, whose primary duty is to detect explosives and other sensitive materials. The RPF routinely checks important trains passing through Dhanbad, including the Howrah and Sealdah Rajdhanis and Durontos, as well as night trains. The cost of feeding a single dog is estimated to be between ₹8,000 and ₹10,000 per month.
