For over 15 years, Barssoi retailers, primarily selling readymade clothes and footwear, relied on booking break vans from Kolkata to transport their goods via the Kolkata Radhika Pur Express. They would then bring their goods home with the tickets and manage their shops at their convenience. Now, with the discontinuation of break van bookings, goods take over a week to reach the market, incurring higher costs and leading to losses for traders. JDU leader and footwear seller association member Roshan is raising concerns about this issue.
