The proposed Gorakhpur-Kushinagar-Padrauna railway line, aimed at connecting Gorakhpur to Kushinagar, the site of Buddha's Mahaparinirvana, has been shelved. transportation, is also on hold. A railway line from Sardarnagar to Hetimpur (Kushinagar) was laid during the British era to transport sugarcane to the Sardarnagar sugar mill. This line remained operational until 1990 but became unusable after the mill closed and passenger trains stopped running on it. In 2012, a plan was formulated to extend this line from Hetimpur to Padrauna via Kushinagar, connecting it to the Kaptaanganj-Thawe railway line. The objective was to provide tourists with direct access to Kushinagar, the site of Buddha's Mahaparinirvana, from Gorakhpur. This was expected to boost tourism between Gorakhpur and Kushinagar. The proposed 65 kilometer line comprised of approximately 40 kilometers of existing track. Only about 25 kilometers of new track needed to be laid, from Hetimpur to Padrauna via Kushinagar.

Gorakhpur se Kushinagar, Buddha ke Mahaparinirvana ki jagah, tak connect karne wala Gorakhpur-Kushinagar-Padrauna railway line ka project shelved ho gaya hai. Interim budget mein is project ke liye fund allocate nahin kiya gaya. Isi tarah, UP aur Bihar ke villages ko Gandak floods se bachaane aur aasaan transport facility dene ke...

liye propose kiya gaya Paniyahwa-Chhitauni-Tamkuhi Road railway line bhi on hold hai. Sardarnagar sugar mill tak sugarcane transport karne ke liye ek railway line British era mein Sardarnagar se Hetimpur (Kushinagar) tak laid kiya gaya tha. Yeh line 1990 tak operational raha, but mill band hone aur is route pe passenger trains ka operation band hone ke baad yeh line unusable ho gaya. 2012 mein is line ko Hetimpur se Kushinagar via Padrauna tak extend karne ki plan bani thi, jisse yeh Kaptaanganj-Thawe railway line se connect hota. Iska objective tha tourists ko Gorakhpur se Kushinagar, Buddha ke Mahaparinirvana ki jagah, tak direct access provide karna. Isse Gorakhpur se Buddha nagari tak local tourists ki count bhi badhni thi. 65 km long line mein se 40 km existing track ka tha. Sirf 25 km new track lay karne ki zarurat thi, Hetimpur se Padrauna via Kushinagar.
