Notable developments in Tamil Nadu include the redevelopment of 77 stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, commissioning of 654 flyovers/underpasses, 116-foot overbridges, 213 'One Station, One Product Stalls' (OSOP), and 98% electrification of the rail network. In Kerala, 35 stations are being redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, 92 flyovers/underpasses, 34-foot overbridges, 48 lifts have been commissioned, 440 OSOP stalls were set up, and speed enhancement and track renewal works are underway for semi-high speed trains. Vaishnaw expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the announcement of three major economic railway corridors for energy, minerals and cement; port connectivity corridors, and high-traffic density corridors.
