during the ongoing doubling of the 30 kilometer railway line between Shaktinagar and Karaila. This doubling project is currently stalled due to a court stay related to land acquisition for a bridge near Anpara. The new station allows for a change in the railway track, increasing the number of coal rakes moving on the line from 3-4 to 6, as the remaining 5 km of the doubling project is completed.
