Licensed porter Trishulnath stated that the rate increase was a result of years of requests and will provide financial benefits to porters who carry luggage for passengers throughout the day. Currently, Tatanagar Station has 112 licensed porters, and there are around 500 porters across various stations in the Chakradharpur Division. The new rates are as follows: carrying luggage increased from 40 rupees to 75 rupees, waiting for trains for up to half an hour increased from 20 rupees to 40 rupees, trolley transportation increased from 150 rupees to 225 rupees, and assisting disabled or ill passengers to and from the train or platform increased from 80 rupees to 100 rupees. Despite this, porters have often been accused of charging more than the authorized amount set by the Railways. The licensed porters at the station have expressed their satisfaction with the implementation of the new rates.

Naye rates yeh hain: luggage uthane ka rate 40 rupees se badhkar 75 rupees ho gaya hai, train ka intezaar karne ka rate 20 rupees se badhkar 40 rupees, trolley se luggage dhulai ka rate 150 rupees se badhkar 225 rupees aur divyang ya bimari se pidit yatriyon ko train ya platform se bahar pahunchane ka rate 80 rupees se badhkar 100 rupees ho gaya hai.
