The renovation began immediately after Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the Amrit Bharat Station scheme on August 6th, 2023. The renovation includes upgrades to the parking area, a new park for aesthetic purposes, new sheds on all platforms, a new waiting hall, a revamped office, improved railway premises, a dedicated parking area, and accessible restrooms for people with disabilities. The project will cost approximately 11.62 crores. A foot over bridge connecting platforms 1 and 2 is also being constructed at an estimated cost of 11.15 crores.
