The workshop is ISO 9001:2000 certified for quality and policy management, and has achieved recognition for environmental management (ISO 14001:2004) and occupational health and safety management (OHSAS 18001:2007). Modernization efforts have resulted in improved workflow, including rehabilitation work on BOBORN wagons. The workshop's pocket yard, established in 1895, has been improved with the construction of a 13km long Apex road along the railway lines to address the safety concerns of employees during wagon shunting. This project, costing ₹2.3 crores, is being overseen by SSE Afaq Ahmad.
