Frustrated, the students took the car of a High Court Judge Sanjeev S Kalgaonkar, who was present on the platform, and rushed him to the hospital. However, he was declared dead upon arrival. This led to the police cordoning off the area, leading to an altercation with the students who were accused of car theft by the police. A case of robbery was filed against the students by the police despite their claim of helping in good faith.
