Hassan-Mangaluru railway electrification likely to get completed by next June

The South Western Railway (SWR) plans to complete the electrification of the Hassan-Mangaluru railway line, including the Sakleshpur-Subrahmanya Road Ghat section, by June 2024. The survey for the Ghat stretch is complete, and work is expected to begin in January. Once electrification is complete, a Vande Bharat Express between Bengaluru and...

Mangaluru could be introduced. The Mangaluru Central-Kabaka Puttur evening passenger train will be extended to Subrahmanya Road (SBHR) and will run early the next morning towards Mangaluru within a month, after the electrification between Kabaka Puttur and SBHR is complete. The possibility of making SBHR a terminal station is under consideration, but requires additional lines to handle train traffic. The Amrit Bharat Station scheme is being implemented at SBHR at an estimated cost of ₹23 crore. There is a demand to reopen the Farangipet railway station and make it a crossing station, considering the development of the area. The Vijayapura-Mangaluru Junction Express Special arrival time at Mangaluru Junction may be advanced from 12.35 p.m. to 11.45 a.m., subject to SWR headquarters approval. There is also a request to build a catch-siding at Kadagarvalli on the SBHR-Sakleshpur Ghat section for train crossing, to allow for more trains on the Hassan-Mangaluru route.

ke baad, Bengaluru aur Mangaluru ke beech Vande Bharat Express start ki ja sakti hai. Mangaluru Central se Kabaka Puttur tak chalanewali evening passenger train ko Subrahmanya Road (SBHR) tak extend kiya jaayega aur Kabaka Puttur aur SBHR ke beech electrification complete hone ke baad, ek mahine mein subah jaldi Mangaluru ki taraf chalaana shuru kiya jaayega. SBHR ko terminal station banane ki possibility par vichar kiya ja raha hai, lekin train traffic handle karne ke liye additional lines ki zarurat hai. Amrit Bharat Station scheme SBHR par ₹23 crore ki lagat se implement ki ja rahi hai. Area ke development ko dekhte hue, Farangipet railway station ko reopen karne aur crossing station banane ki demand hai. Vijayapura se Mangaluru Junction tak chalanewali Express Special train ka arrival time Mangaluru Junction par 12.35 p.m. se advance karke 11.45 a.m. kar diya ja sakta hai, ye SWR headquarters ke approval par depend karta hai. SBHR se Sakleshpur Ghat section par Kadagarvalli mein catch-siding banane ki bhi demand hai, jisse train crossing possible ho aur Hassan se Mangaluru route par zyada trains chalaayi ja sake.
