In the month of July, Rail Minister Piyush Goyal while replying to a question in parliament had said that flexi fare has generated an additional revenue of about 2,400 crores for indian railways since its implementation. It seems that the editor still has a perception that trains having passengers sitting in toilets and in luggage compartments like cattles r the only profit making ones which is totally incorrect.

It has helped railway more than anyone else. Flexi fare is implemented in somewhat about 140 trains and has already generated an additional revenue of 2,400 crores which is way beyond expectation. Still there is a room for improvement so that in lean seasons more passengers could be attracted.
