This is very very basic and essential service , though late, but came for good.
But is this limited to one City / Station only ?

Good service. But Egmore would have been better for a trial. Central is a terminus and as such, passengers do not have as much trouble in switching platforms as Egmore or other passing stations.
It is by IR only and no doubt about it... one needs to 'get accustomed to innovative ideas by IR with technology and passenger amenities' ... Alerts may differ is only when train is too late or some track troubles. but they do announce before hand at platform itself .... "Your attention please..."
On big stations this thing will be very useful for the passenegers
