1. The Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW) (formerly Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW)) in Varanasi, is a production unit of Indian Railways.
Founded in 1961 as the DLW, it rolled out its first locomotive three years later, on 3 January 1964. It manufactures locomotives which are variants based on the original ALCO designs dating to 1960s and the GM EMD designs of the 1990s.
DLW stopped manufacturing diesel locomotives in March 2019 and was renamed BLW in Oct 2020. It was the largest diesel-electric locomotive manufacturer in India.
2. Banaras railway station , formerly known as Manduadih railway station, is situated in Manduadih area of Varanasi in of Uttar Pradesh.
Banaras Railway Station is a world-class station which is termed as airport-style railway station in Indian Railways (IR) and indeed, a model railway station in IR.
3. Varanasi Junction railway, also known as Varanasi Cantt railway station, is the main railway station serving the city of Varanasi.
The station is partially controlled by the Lucknow Division of the Northern Railway Zone and the Varanasi Division of the North Eastern Railway Zone of the Indian Railways.
The first line to the temple town was opened from Howrah in 1862.
