A forensic team investigated and found a three-foot piece of track and a clump 80 meters away from the derailment site. They suspect the track piece was deliberately placed on the track using the clump. The police commissioner, however, stated that the track piece found did not have any signs of friction. The train driver claimed he applied emergency brakes due to stones on the track, causing the derailment. The police are questioning the driver again and investigating the disappearance of the stones. They are also examining CCTV footage from the area to identify any suspicious activity.The incident has caused disruption of train services for almost five hours.
