Currently, 41 ongoing railway projects with a total length of 5,877 kilometers and costing INR 81,580 crore are underway across Maharashtra. These projects include new railway line construction, railway line expansion, doubling and gauge conversion, and electrification. Furthermore, the 'Amrit Bharat Station Scheme', a visionary initiative by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to revitalize 1337 railway stations nationwide, transforming them into travel hubs with improved facilities and passenger experiences. The scheme focuses on long-term station development, incorporating upgrades like improved waiting halls, toilets, lifts, escalators, 'One Station One Product' stalls, executive lounges, and multi-modal integration.
