Howrah-Mumbai Train Accident: Bengal Mother, Son Recall How They Survived

On July 30, 2024, 18 coaches of the Howrah-Mumbai Mail (train number 12810) derailed near Chakradharpur in Jharkhand, killing 2 individuals and injuring 20 others. were on the train when it derailed, and both were injured. Utpal described the incident, stating that the train came to a sudden halt in the early morning, and his mother fell from her seat. Both were given first-aid by railway officials and continued their journey to Mumbai by a special train. The victims were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Rescue and relief operations are underway, with the National Disaster Response Force assisting local authorities. The accident also affected a couple from West Bengal, Shyamaprasad and Anjana Halder, who recounted their narrow escape. The incident prompted authorities to release helpline numbers for those affected by the accident.

Dono ko railway officials ne first-aid di aur unhone apni journey Mumbai ke liye special train se continue ki. Victims ko nearby hospital mein treatment ke liye le jaaya gaya.
