Restoration works are complete for two sections between Srivaikuntam and Alwar Tirunagari, but the bund between Alwar Tirunagari and Nazareth is still being restored, hampered by night-time work restrictions and a local road blockade. Engineers aim to complete restoration of the 61 km stretch to Tiruchendur by January 5th to resume rail services as soon as possible.
