Construction of 21-km tunnel in Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project expedited

The construction of the 21 km long tunnel for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project is progressing rapidly. A 394-meter long tunnel, called an Additionally Driven Intermediate Tunnel (ADIT), has been excavated at Ghansoli. The ADIT will provide direct access to the main tunnel during construction and emergencies. Its excavation, which took...

six months and involved 214 controlled blasts, allows for the construction of another 3.3 km tunnel using the New Austrian Tunneling Method (NATM). This method allows for simultaneous tunneling from both sides. The 21 km tunnel will include a 7 km section under the Thane Creek intertidal zone, making it the first of its kind in India. The tunnel will have two tracks and will be constructed using Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) with 13.6-meter diameter cutter heads. Three shafts at BKC, Vikhroli, and Sawli will facilitate the construction of the 16 km tunnel using TBMs. The NHSRCL aims to complete the project by 2028, reducing travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad to three hours.

months lage aur 214 controlled blasts hue, se New Austrian Tunneling Method (NATM) se 3.3 km lamba aur tunnel banaya ja sakega. Is method se dono taraf se saath-saath tunnelling ho payega. 21 km tunnel me Thane Creek intertidal zone ke neeche 7 km section bhi hoga, jo India me pehle kabhi nahi banaya gaya. Tunnel me two tracks honge aur isko Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) se banaya jaayega, jisme 13.6-meter diameter cutter heads honge. BKC, Vikhroli, aur Sawli me three shafts banaye jaayenge, jo TBMs se 16 km tunnel banane me madad karenge. NHSRCL ka target hai ki project 2028 tak complete ho jaaye, aur Mumbai se Ahmedabad tak ka travel time three hours tak kam ho jaaye.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
