The fancied project seems to be getting delayed due to the so-called delays at St. Thomas Mount station which will the integrated hub of the south for CMRL, MRTS, Regular EMUs, and M/E SF trains. It is sad to hear that it is affecting the testing planned. To bypass this, CMRL has been contemplating carrying out the test run between Koyambedu and Ashok Nagar against Koyambedu and St. Thomas Mount. If the test and trial runs go by the given schedule, the commission of rail safety may further examine the train, sites and facilities and inauguration at least between Koyambedu and Alandur is expected not earlier than mid 2014. Status of non-pic stations:
Arumbakkam: Structure, concourse, PF slab over, deck in progress.
Ashok Nagar: PF slab over, concourse and roof slab in progress.
SIDCO: Deck and PF slabs over.
Alandur: Level 1: Deck and PF are over, roof work in progress. Level 2: Deck and PF slabs are over. This is where the corridors 1 and 2 meet.
