The current shortage of TTEs has led to a situation where one TTE is responsible for checking passengers across multiple coaches, including sleeper, general, and AC compartments. Some employees who previously worked as TTEs are now assigned to office duties, further exacerbating the shortage. By deploying these employees back into the TTE squads, the shortage could be addressed.
