The 240-kilometer line, starting at Khalilabad and ending at Bahraich, will pass through various towns including Mehdawal, Dumriaganj, Utraula, Shravasti, Bhinga, and Bahraich. The project, approved in October 2018, has a budget of 4940 crores and aims to be completed by 2025. Land acquisition is underway, with 20 kilometers already acquired. The line is expected to improve connectivity and facilitate travel between Bahraich, Khalilabad, Lucknow, and Bihar. The project includes 16 stations, 12 halts, and two bridges over the Rapti River.
