1999 and are currently being manufactured at the Kapurthala Railway Coach Factory. These coaches are known for their comfort, safety, and high speed capability (up to 160 km/h, compared to 110-130 km/h for conventional coaches). They also offer more space than ICF coaches. For example, an LHB sleeper coach has 80 berths, compared to 72 berths in an ICF sleeper coach. LHB coaches also feature hydraulic suspension, which contributes to a smoother and more comfortable ride.
