Sleeper versions of the Vande Bharat Express are being developed at the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced that the sleeper version will be on tracks from February 2024. To gather feedback on the sleeper coaches, a plan is underway to add one or two sleeper coaches to some existing Vande Bharat trains. In the first phase, sleeper coaches are being considered for inclusion on long-distance routes such as Rani Kamlapati-Hazrat Nizamuddin, Varanasi-New Delhi, Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi, and Nagpur-Indore. Each sleeper coach will have 51 seats. The railway also plans to include one or two chair car coaches in the sleeper version to provide confirmed seats for passengers traveling shorter distances.
Due to ongoing yard re-modeling work at Mathura Junction, train traffic is severely affected, causing delays of hours for several trains passing through Gwalior, including the Vande Bharat Express. Passengers are facing inconvenience due to the delays. The station is crowded throughout the day, and trains are experiencing overcrowding. On Monday, the Pune-Jammu Tawi Jhelum Express arriving from New Delhi reached Gwalior station 3 hours and 35 minutes late. Other trains, such as the Amritsar-Nanded Sankalp Express, Utkal Express, Vande Bharat Express, Mahakaushal Express, Telangana Express, Chambal Express, Jhansi-Bandra Express, and Barauni Mail, also arrived in Gwalior with delays ranging from 45 minutes to 3 hours and 36 minutes. As a result, passengers were seen waiting at the station for hours. Due to the yard re-modeling work in Mathura, the railway has also canceled 297 trains in phases on different days.

Issi tarah Amritsar-Nanded Sankalp Express 1:43 ghante, Utkal Express 1:36 ghante, Vande Bharat Express 45 minute, Mahakaushal Express 2:34 ghante, Telangana Express 1:06 ghante ki der se Gwalior pahuchi. Chambal Express 1:03 ghante, Jhansi-Bandra Express 1:05 ghante, Barauni Mail 1:14 ghante ki der se Gwalior pahuchi. Isse passengers ghanto station par intezaar karte hue nazar aaye.
