The North Eastern Railway dispatched staff from Gonda junction to manage the situation. The Saharsa-New Delhi train, scheduled to depart at 7:15 pm on November 27th, left Saharsa at 9:30 am on November 28th, arriving in Gorakhpur 19 hours late. The train was not supposed to stop at Burhwal Junction but made an unscheduled halt around 1:15 pm.
