The first WAG 6A of IR with road number # 26000 earmarked for preservation resting inside its home shed, ELS Vishakapatnam. The other loco in the queue is Hitachi made WAG 6B # 26010 which is also earmarked for preservation.

more... at 6000 HP, six units (26000-26005) were built & delivered between December 1987 and January 1988. These locomotives had Bo-Bo-Bo wheel arrangement and were controlled by thyristors. They had majorly served the Kirandul - Kottavalasa line throughout their entire service life.
Interestingly, the first unit "26000" was delivered by ASEA in December, 1987 & rest of the 5 units 26001-005 were delivered by ABB in January, 1988 post merger.
General Swedish Electrical Limited Company or Allmanna Svenska Elektriska Aktiebolaget (ASEA) in Swedish later merged with Brown Boveri on 1st January 1988 to form ABB (Asean Brown Boveri).

These bad boys were rated at a kickass 6000 HP. They made six of 'em (26000-26005) between December 1987 and January 1988. These locos had a Bo-Bo-Bo arrangement and were controlled by some fancy thyristors. They spent most of their lives kickin' it on the Kirandul - Kottavalasa line.

Get this: General Swedish Electrical Limited Company (also known as Allmanna Svenska Elektriska Aktiebolaget, but ain't nobody got time for that) merged with Brown Boveri on January 1, 1988. Their love child was ABB (that's Asean Brown Boveri, in case you didn't know).
