RTI REPLY FROM ASANSOL DIVISION
Recently I have Lodged an RTI application appealing to tell the station revenue of some specific stations of ASANSOL div of ER.
Station Revenue = Revenue from reserved tickets + Revenue from unreserved ticket + Parcel revenue
...
Although I have been provided with the revenue from unreserved ticket, but unfortunately Railway didn't provided me the main source of the station revenue, ie, stationwise income list from reserved tickets.
(Usually the income from the reserved tickets exceeds the revenue from unreserved tickets, so for the time being the actual revenue of the stations can be considered as twice the revenue from unreserved tickets.)
Some inferences -
тАв The top five stations with highest revenue from UNRESERVED TICKETS ONLY in this list are -
1. Jasidih (~36.5 crore)
2. Asansol (~32 crore)
3. Durgapur (~18 crore)
4. Madhupur (~9.6 crore)
5. Raniganj (~6.7crore)
тАв The highest number of passengers served in the whole Asansol Division are -
1. Asansol (~80 lakh)
2. Durgapur (~70 lakh)
3. Jasidih (~46 lakh)
4. Raniganj (~30 lakh)
5. Madhupur (~25 lakh)
тАв If we go by the general trend where revenue from reserved ticket usually exceeds the revenue of unreserved ticket, then both ASANSOL and JASIDIH have crossed 60crore landmark which is the benchmark of being a A1 class station
тАв Also RANIGANJ has registered a revenue of 6.7 crore from unreserved tickets, so its quite clear that RNG has crossed the 9 crore landmark which is the benchmark of being a A class station.
тАв The overall revenue of JASIDIH in 2014 was around 36 crore and now it has a revenue of 36.5 from unreserved tickets only in 2016-17. So Jasidih has registered the highest growth rate in station revenue in ASN division
