This is actually just a short siding. The line that crossed the border ran a few hundred meters to the north of this dead end point, and ran till Raiwind (in Pakistan now). The pillars for the old bridge across the Sutlej river are still standing and are visible in Google maps. The line till the river on the Indian side was opened in 1892.
