more... Mighty WAP- 4 was first manufactured by keeping in mind that the Locomotive can easily haul 24 coaches trains with ease, and also run upto 140 km/hr. The first WAP- 4 Locomotive 22061 "ASHOK" was manufactured in a trial basis. As it proved successful, WAP- 4 were produced in a large number, numbering from 22201 to 22399, and then 22500 to 22999. But as WAP- 5 Locomotive failed in the Ghat section with 24 coaches, and WAP- 7 proving too unreliable, the production of WAP- 4 Locomotive continued even further, with the new road number 25000 onwards. Finally the WAP- 4 production stopped with road number 25051.

Sankrail is situated on SER's Howrah- Kharagpur stretch.
East Coast Express runs along the East Coast of India between Vijayawada and Howrah and hence the name. Earlier days originating station of this train used to be from Guntur where it was hauled by Steam Engine. The train follows the Howrah- Kharagpur- Bhubaneshwar- Khurdah Road- Vishakapatnam- Vijayawada- Kazipet- Secunderabad- Hyderabad route.
The JAN SHATABDI follows the Howrah- Santragachi- Kharagpur- Balasore- Cuttack- Bhubaneswar route.
