I am sure u have no idea of what you are talking of. indian railways cant be sustained on rajdhanis and durontoes. trains like janta and lal quila are rather more important as they connect hundreds of stations. passengers reside at smaller stations as well and not only in metro cities. regarding patronage, I am sure you have never seen or travelled in lal quila/janta. they are the lifeline of d region thru which it crosses. all trains cant be crack superfast and all trains cant be non stop. these trains have reserved coaches half in no.of unreserved coaches cos they cater more to intermediate passengers than end to end.
