CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the Agra Metro on 6th March, 2024 and it has been opened for Public on 7th March, 2024 11AM.

Foundation stone of construction was lied on 7th December 2020 but construction of Undergrounds section was started on April 2022 and completed within 23 Months from that time.

of now Metro is functional only at 6KM long corridor and Agra Fort Railway Station of Indian Railways is just 500Mtrs. away from Mankameshwar Metro Station of Agra Metro.

Not only Agra Fort Railway Station but Agra Fort Bus Station(Also known as BijleeGhar) is at just walking distance from Mankameshwar Metro station.

Second Metro station is in front of main gate historical palace Agra Fort. The Name of Metro station is Dr. BR Ambedkar.

3rd Metro Station is at entry point of Tajmahal west gate and name of Metro Station is TajMahal.

4th Metro Station is in Tajganj at Fatehabad Road which is having a lot of luxury hotels and marriage homes so location of this Metro Station is also much useful in peak hours This station is at the location where Mall Road ends.

5th Metro Station is named as Lt. Captain Shubham Gupta which is also on Fatehabad Road only and it is in front of Radisson hotel.

6th and Last Metro station of South East side in phase 1 is also commenced for public operation and it is in front of TDI Mall at Fatehabad Raod. Although it has been named as TajMahal East gate but Taj Mahal East Gate is around 2.5KM away from here.

Within Next 1 year, 4 more Metro stations will be operational and one of the station from those will be in front of Main Gate of Raja Ki Mandi Railway Station of Indian Railways. Along with that a Metro station will be at Medical College and other one will be at St. Johns Crossing at MG Road.

Last Underground station will be near RBS Inter College.

Heritage Description : It was built by the colonial government for movement of troops and materials from Agra to surrounding areas. Currently it is used for passage of goods. It is built in colonial style and has a rectangular plan with a main central hall and a set of rooms on either side. The central hall has semi-circular arches, and the first floor has rectangular openings with wooden shutters. The facade has stucco mouldings,niches and false brackets.
