Governor of Jharkhand, had requested the doubling of this line. The Member of Parliament from Jamshedpur, Vijayvaran Mahato, has been advocating for the doubling of this line since 2017. Since the establishment of Tata Steel, goods trains have been transporting minerals on the single line to Badampahar. There are now four express trains running from Badampahar, including the Badampahar-Santragachi-Badampahar weekly express, Badampahar-Rourkela-Badampahar weekly express, Badampahar-Tatanagar express, and Tata-Badampahar MEMU. The Badampahar and Rairang railway stations are being upgraded under the Amrit Bharat scheme. The stations are undergoing improvements including a footbridge, sheds, toilets, and drinking water facilities. Additionally, the color of bedrolls provided in air-conditioned coaches will be changed from white to colored. This change was initiated on the New Delhi-Ranchi Rajdhani train by the Northern Railway and follows a request by former Rajya Sabha MP Samir Oraon. The Badampahar in Odisha is significant for the Chakradharpur Railway Division in terms of revenue generation. A plan is underway to connect Aunlajori, Gorumahisani, and Badampahar to Banspani, Juruli, Nayagarh, and other sections, making it easier to transport goods to the Paradeep port. The Prime Minister recently approved new lines for Badampahar-Kendujhargarh (82 km) and Gorumahisani-Bangriposi (85 km). The increasing train traffic on the Howrah-Mumbai-Mumbai and Odisha routes will see a reduction in travel time for trains going to Puri and Bhubaneswar with the construction of the Tatanagar-Badampahar-Gorumahisani-Kendujhargarh and Bangriposi lines.

दक्षिण पूर्व जोन ने इस परियोजना को अपनी तीन वर्षीय कार्य योजना में शामिल किया था और सर्वेक्षण भी किए थे। राष्ट्रपति मुर्मू, जब झारखंड में राज्यपाल थीं, तब उन्होंने भी इस लाइन को डबल करने का प्रस्ताव दिया था। जमशेदपुर के सांसद विद्युतवरण महतो 2017 से इस मुद्दे को लोकसभा में उठाते आ रहे हैं। टाटा स्टील की स्थापना से ही बादामपहाड़ की एकल लाइन में मालगाड़ियों द्वारा खनिजों की ढुलाई हो रही है। अब बादामपहाड़ से चार एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन चल रही हैं, जिनमें बादामपहाड़-संतरागाछी-बादामपहाड़ साप्ताहिक एक्सप्रेस, बादामपहाड़-रौरकेला-बादामपहाड़ साप्ताहिक एक्सप्रेस, बादामपहाड़-टाटानगर एक्सप्रेस, और टाटा-बादामपहाड़ मेमू शामिल हैं। बादामपहाड़ और रायरंग रेलवे स्टेशनों का अमृत भारत योजना के तहत उन्नयन किया जा रहा है। स्टेशनों पर फुटओवर ब्रिज, शेड, शौचालय, और पेयजल जैसी सुविधाएँ बनाई जा रही हैं। इसके अलावा, वातानुकूलित डिब्बों में दिए जाने वाले बेडरोल का रंग सफेद से रंगीन में बदल दिया जाएगा। यह बदलाव उत्तरी रेलवे ने नई दिल्ली-रांची राजधानी ट्रेन में शुरू किया है और यह पूर्व राज्यसभा सांसद समीर उरांव के अनुरोध के बाद किया गया है। ओडिशा में बादामपहाड़ चक्रधरपुर रेलवे डिवीजन के लिए राजस्व उत्पादन के दृष्टिकोण से बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है। आंवलाजोड़ी, गुरूमहिसानी, और बादामपहाड़ को बांसपानी, जुरुली, नयागढ़, और अन्य खंडों से जोड़ने की योजना बनाई जा रही है। इससे पारादीप बंदरगाह तक मालगाड़ियों को आसानी होगी। प्रधान मंत्री ने बादामपहाड़-केन्दुझरगढ़ (82 किमी) और गुरूमहिसानी-बांगरीपोसी (85 किमी) के लिए नई लाइनों को मंजूरी दी है। हावड़ा-मुंबई-मुंबई और ओडिशा मार्गों पर ट्रेनों का यातायात बहुत बढ़ रहा है। टाटानगर-बादामपहाड़-गुरूमहिसानी-केन्दुझरगढ़ और बांगरीपोसी लाइन बनने से पुरी और भुवनेश्वर जाने वाली ट्रेनों का यात्रा समय कम होगा।

Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs ne approve kiya hai. Yeh project, jisko 1977 mein pehli baar propose kiya gaya tha, Jharkhand ke Baharagoda, Gudabanda aur Odisha ke Sarsakona, Bangriposi jaise areas ko fayda dega. Isse New Delhi se Bhubaneshwar, Puri, Chandbali, Paradip aur Visakhapatnam jaise ports ki durri karieb 100 kilometer kam ho jayegi.
