The result of Byrnihat-Shillong project KSU (Khasi Students’ Union) opposed the projects
NGOs in Meghalaya are demanding for a comprehensive and effective mechanism for checking influx issue before the introduction of railway in the state. Earlier in December 2016, the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) reiterated their opposition to the proposed rail link from Assam’s Tetelia to Byrnihat and then to Shillong. On the proposed railway link, the KSU said it would continue to oppose the projects from Tetelia-Byrnihat and Byrnihat-Shillong till a strong law is implemented to check unabated influx.

Wow. So after the Dudnoi - Mendi Pathar BG Line, as per Financial Express IR seems to be planning on the Tetelia (Assam) - Byrnihat (Meghalaya) BG Line in the 1st Phase of 21.5 Kms. Further, in the 2nd Phase IR will work on the Byrnihat - Shillong BG Line of 108.4 Kms.
.
So we can expect a Rajdhani Exp train from Shillong to New Delhi via Byrnihat - Tetelia - New Bongaigaon - New Jalpaiguri - Barauni - Chapra - Varanasi - Sultanpur - Lucknow - Moradabad Route!!!
